One day, one volunteer

Alexandra Leocadie : « The setting of the Lumière festival is beautiful! »

PostED ON OCTOBER 15 AT 12AM

It is her first Lumière festival as an attendee and as a volunteer. This year marks a milestone for 20-year-old Alexandra Leocadie. Originally from Fort-de-France, the communications student at the University of Lyon 2 is responsible for welcoming artists for the daily concerts at the Village Lumière.

Each moment is a happy one for this avid music lover. "We get the possibility to meet people, while attending the concerts. All in the beautiful setting of the Lumière festival!” A fan of horror films, the young Martiniquaise already has her ticket for the epic Bram Stoker’s Dracula by Coppola. A masterpiece by the laureate of the Lumière Award 2019 that Alexandra will see for the third or fourth time, with the same enthusiasm. A faithful moviegoer of the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival, which takes place on the famous Caribbean island and a volunteer for the “Rencontres Cinémas Martinique,” Alexandra discovered the Lumière festival thanks to a professor of a cinema elective course at her high school in Martinique. Three years ago, she left her native island to pursue information/communication studies in Lyon. The young lady, who wants to become a communications leader in the cinema sector, can count on the city of Lumière to fulfil her dreams.
